Mainsail Cover

Given all that goes into making a sailboat as pleasing as possible, getting a mainsail cover that fits properly is a high priority. We researched many companies online and asked many of our fellow sailors in the marina for their recommendations. Ultimately we chose Lee Sail covers because 1. they created the best measuring system 2. were using the best canvas product 3. promised the fastest construction time and, 4. beyond all that, had what we found to be the best price for a high quality product. Ultimately, however, the fit must be right and having been very careful in taking the measurements there was still the worry that the cover would be too large and look baggy, or too tight and look skimpy. Happily, the fit is perfect, the hardware and material of the highest quality. It is now the best looking and best fitting cover in our Marina and it has been a pleasure to tell fellow sailors where we purchased it.

Purchased a new cover for my Columbia 8.3. Because I'm a pessimist I did not expect it to fit right but it did fit perfectly on the first go. Very nice pockets that wrap around jacklines. Glad I purchased and very happy with overall appearance and functionality.

I purchased mainsail and tiller covers for a little S2 7.3 I recently acquired and (despite best efforts not to...) am improving. I'm a particular fellow and before ordering, took measurements on THREE different occasions. Can you guess?--they weren't all the same. But I made my best guess and ordered. Both covers fit well and look great. I'm very pleased. And of course the price is right. Yet here's the best reason to buy from Lee: back in March, when snow was high and I was planning to be ready for our short sailing season from day one, I had ordered a new main (from Hyde Sails Direct, another fine supplier) and contacted LSC for new covers. But Becky didn't want to sell! Without measurements of the new sail to be covered, she advised it would be unwise to order. Clearly, Lee Sail Covers is more concerned with doing good work than in making a sale. You should have them do good work for you. Lastly, lest I be seen as an unalloyed cheerleader, in a perfect world I would have preferred the black color of my covers to be a more vibrant, blacker black. The many seasons old and disintegrating canvas cover I was replacing still was more black than the new ones. A minor quibble, to be sure.

Fit and finish of the mainsail cover is top rate. We measured per your diagram illustration and the results look great. Quick delivery. Very pleased.

I ordered online without calling or talking to anyone - - just providing the needed dimensions noted on the website. As a sail-maker-in-the-past, I considered getting material and making the cover myself, but decided that the price was right and simply submitted my order. The resulting cover is great quality, very good fit, and was delivered as promised. It could use about 1" in length, but with a little pull, it covers the clew car - - a little stretch makes it look better anyway. I'm quite happy with it and will certainly order more canvas products from Lee! Larry NW Washington

Very pleased with service time and quality of product. We selected the optional twist locks and UV resistant thread as well. I was not sure how my taking the measurements would turn out but the cover fits well and we'll be ordering a cover for the mainsail next.

My whole experience ordering my new mainsail cover was excellent. The on-line measurement instructions and order form were easy to follow and simple to complete, and the new cover was shipped in less than a week. This cover was for a 40 foot boat with a long mainsail foot-length, and the final product was exactly as requested and appears very well sewn. This is the first canvas product I've ordered using the Weather Max material, and my initial impressions are very positive (lighter weight, very waterproof through several early spring rainstorms). I went with the thread upgrade and turnbuckle snaps, both of which I would recommend. Overall, I'm very happy with both the service and the quality of construction, and highly recommend Lee Sail Covers!

The sail cover fit real good. My old cover would not cover my sail at the mast, this cover totally cover my sail. It is easy to put on. I wish the zipper started at the top and went down.

It looks fine and well made. I will not be able to check it out properly until I try it out on the boat which won't be until June.
